Wonder is a compelling book about the life of a boy named August told through the perspective of his friends and family. August is a boy just like any other 10 year old, except for one thing. He has a terrible birth defect that has affected the way he looks and lives. Nobody can figure out what went wrong or how to reverse the effects but somehow life just goes on for August. This book tells us of the daily struggles of a boy, like August, who just wants to fit in. It also informs us of the difficulties all of his friends and family go through.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. I think it is suitable for all ages but people over the age of 7 would find it a more enjoyable read as they would be able to get a deeper understanding. I think that this book is a must read – it is packed with emotion and hidden meanings. Reading this book will make you feel angry; it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. Wonder is an amazing book that will move the heart and change the mind of anyone who is lucky enough to read such a breath-taking, heart-wrenching book. In conclusion, I enjoyed this book very much and found it a real page-turner.
